The Story...

A Nantucket mainstay, Emilly Brooke Rubin has been providing the island’s discerning clientele with exquisite custom jewelry for the past 30 years. With a reputation for a bohemian yet refined use of ocean pearls, precious and semi precious stones in her unique creations. Emilly has garnered a loyal following of devotees.

Her passion for jewelry began at young age, when during travels with her family, she would collect and rework the exotic pieces she found, giving them her own personal touch. Emilly’s creative process has unquestionably been influenced by the the unique palette and natural beauty of Nantucket. Having spent her summers swimming in the surf, casting a line and collecting seashells since 1969, Emilly incorporates the colors and textures and sometimes the actual treasures she has discovered meandering along the Island’s impeccable shoreline in her designs to this day.

Emilly received her formal training as an artist at the Academy Of Arts in SF, with her creativity still rooted in jewelry, she crafted meticulous beadwork that she would sell privately from her home studio. However, it was when she procured a jewelry apprenticeship with a local goldsmith in her early 20’s that she gained the tactile, hands on experience with metalsmithing and stone setting that would solidify her creative path. This encounter catapulted her from simple craft to a more refined esthetic and professional pursuit. As her style matured she began to develop a loyal following, showing her work at juried trade and private trunk shows, The Museum of Arts and Design in New York city to Island design institution, The Nantucket Looms.

Emilly opened her first retail location in 2000, on Nantucket’s South Wharf, a little jewel box nestled among the mega yachts and sport fishers. Soon to follow, she opened a sister store, Sweet Liddle, named after her beloved pup. Shoppers were delighted by the whimsical presentation of her meticulous and eclectic curation of home goods, apothecary remedies, clothing and accessories. She eventually moved uptown to Nantucket’s historic Petticoat Row on bustling Centre Street where the two businesses were combined under a shared storefront. Today, Emilly’s online boutique and Sconset location brings her unique creations and curations beyond the shores of Nantucket.

Specializing in Ocean pearls and using the highest quality materials Mother Earth has to offer, Emilly designs one of a kind pieces from her seaside studio. To see more of what Emilly has to offer you can make a private appointment or visit her new location in the charming village of Sconset, the eastern shore of Nantucket.
