Lustrous 15.15ct silver blue osmena pearl cabochons. Set in 14k yellow gold with my traditional buttery matte finish. They hang 2 1/4" in the ear and are light as air and easy to wear all day into the evening. Fun and fabulous!
Osmena pearl is not a true pearl formed by a mollusk. They are a decorative cabochon crafted from the inner layer of the nautilus shell. These "pearl" shells are known for their iridescent, often rainbow-hued, inner layer. The shell is polished, revealing this layer, and then often backed with mother-of-pearl or another shell material to create a flat cabochon.
