Abalone shell on braided navy lace with abalone closure. The shells were hand collected, drilled and tumbled in walnut pieces to achieve a high polish and luster.
One of a kind, 28" from closure to end.
I call this an abalone waterfall as it makes the most wonderful sound as you move.
I have a huge collection of abalone that I aquired in Mendocino county in northern california. I climb down 50ft cliffs to tiny beaches unreachable for the most part unless at the lowest tide. It is dangerous and extremely rewarding if done carefully. The shells make a sound reminiscent to that of the rocky coastline where they are collected as the waves roll onto shore and diclose their location. Pure meramid treasure
